Beschrijving

Nawie African Freedom Day is a cultural community event in Antwerp that brings together the African diaspora and the wider public through music, culture, and connection.

This initiative is built from a changemaker perspective, focusing on awareness, unity, and positive community development. In collaboration with F.V. Nawie (a member association of FMDO), we are creating a platform where culture, identity, and talent come together.

For the Unity Freedom Stage on 9 may, we are looking for emerging and local artists who want to share their music, message, and energy with a diverse audience. We select four artists.

We welcome genres such as:

  • Afro, reggae, soul, hip hop, world music
  • Cultural and traditional performances
  • Spoken word and conscious artistic expressions

Event details:

  • Location: Antwerp (Merksem – Kroonplein)
  • Date: 9 May 2026
  • Time: between 12:00 and 22:00

What we offer:

  • A live performance opportunity on a cultural stage
  • Exposure to a diverse and engaged audience
  • Networking opportunities within the diaspora and creative sector
  • A positive and meaningful event environment

We are looking for artists who:

  • Bring positive energy and message
  • Value culture, unity, and community
  • Are motivated to be part of a growing platform

This is more than a performance — it is a moment of connection, expression, and building something bigger together. Apply now and be part of Nawie African Freedom Day.
