The Happy Suspended ontstond in 2017 en won twee jaar later de Gigstarter Artist of the Year award, in een finale waarin de energieke live show van de Gentse muzikanten zowel de jury als het publiek wist te overtuigen.

In de tussentijd hebben ze verder gebroed op die energieke liveshow, en hun muzikaal pallet uitgebreid door koppig buiten de lijntjes te blijven kleuren. Het maakt niet uit of je een rasechte ska-fan bent, een naar-een-breakdown-verlangende headbanger, of gewoon graag een beentje zwiert: Aan je trekken komen zal je!

Voor elk wat wils dus, of zoals Luminous Dash het verwoordt: 'vree wijze' ska. Er zitten punkgitaren in The Bird, er zit een overdosis zomerse gein in Fur Heidi, er is hun fiëstamanifest In A Bar – zeer Pogues – en er is, hey, in het Nederlands! – Wie Zijn Wij.

The Happy Suspended was born in 2017 and won the Gigstarter Artist of the Year award two years later, in a final in which the Ghent-based musicians' energetic live show won over both the judges and the audience.

In the meantime, they have continued to brood on that energetic live show, but have also expanded their musical pallet by stubbornly continuing to color outside the lines. It doesn't matter whether you are a pure ska fan, a headbanger longing for a breakdown, or just want to dance: you'll get your money's worth!

Luminous Dash describes the band as: Awesome ska. There's punk guitars in 'The Bird', there's an overdose of summery fun in 'Fur Heidi', there's their fiesta manifesto 'In A Bar' - very Pogues - and there's, hey, in Dutch! - 'Wie Zijn Wij'.
