Yoko Syndrome is snel opgerezen als een van de meest veelbelovende bands in de Brusselse rockscene. Hun muziek is een mengeling van britpop, punkrock en electro. Mix Kings of Leon en The Killers met M83, de Kaiser Chiefs en Editors en je zit er heel dicht bij.

Hun debuutalbum ‘Nights Like These’, uitgebracht in november 2014, schreven ze in 2013 en 2014 tijdens hun tour door Europa.

Radiozenders in België, Frankrijk, Verenigde Staten, Australië en Italië hebben de debuutsingle ‘Going Home’ al gespeeld. Hun zelf geproduceerde debuut-EP uit 2013, ‘Big Time Finish’, was binnen twee maanden uitverkocht. Toen Yoko Syndrome in 2013 de Finse ‘We Never Stood a Chance’-wedstrijd won, schreef Rosvot, één van de belangrijkste Finse muzieksites: “De riffs van Yoko Syndrome zijn onweerstaanbaar goed”.

Yoko Syndrome heeft onder andere opgetreden in België, het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Frankrijk, Nederland, Italië en Tsjechië. Ze hebben ook gespeeld op de Brussels Jazz Marathon, het Belgische Fête de la Musique, en de festivals WEAD, Fêtes de Wallonie, en Scène sur Sambre.

In 2015 hebben ze de RedBull Bedroom Jam-wedstrijd gewonnen en speelden ze op het Les Ardentes festival als opening act voor uitmuntende artiesten zoals Iggy Pop, Paul Weller, The Charlatans en The Hives.

Yoko Syndrome has quickly emerged as one of the most promising bands of the Brussels indie rock scene. Their music draws on a mix of brit-pop, punk rock and electro. Blend Kings of Leon and The Killers with M83, the Kaiser Chiefs and Editors and you are somewhere close.

Their debut album “Nights Like These” was written throughout 2013 and 2014 while travelling across Europe, and was released in November 2014. It features ten songs that take inspiration from the warmth of good times spent with close friends.

“Going Home” is their debut single and has been played on radio stations in Belgium, France, United States, Australia and Italy. Their 2013 debut self-produced EP, Big Time Finish, sold out in two months. As winners of the We Never Stood a Chance 2013 online competition in Finland, Rosvot (Finnish music site) said: “Yoko Syndrome and its riffs sound irresistibly good”.

Yoko Syndrome have performed in Belgium, United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Italy and Czech Republic. In Belgium they have performed at the Brussels Jazz Marathon, the Belgian Fête de la Musique, and the WEAD, Fêtes de Wallonie and Scène Sur Sambre festivals.

They have also won the 2015 edition of the RedBull Bedroom Jam contest and opened Les Ardentes Festival in July 2015.
