Wannabe Lions started from the ashes of hibernating bands, whose musicians had a fierce hunger for music. Songs were written on long train rides, and home-recorded when the craving for music became too strong to bare. Wannabe Lions wants to write songs that fit inside a concept or follow a theme, as opposed to writing singles. Out of this process, "Wire-Tapped" came into existence. The backstory is about communication and love that gets overshadowed by an oppressive regime. Six tracks ranging from "ok" to "mental" try to bring the story of surveillance. The rest is up to your imagination. Are you being followed? Next up was "Western Lovers", the bigger questions in the love life of horseback riders or stagecoach girls. Three songs that don't try to be a display of the sound of cowboys, but look for what drives them. "You take the first step, it's hit or miss now." We did a first concert at Café De Loge (Gent) and got lots of great feedback. Ready for more!
