Bio

TrOpe is a funk-rock collective of musicians whose aim is to produce songs pregnant with a poetic language (tropes) relying on and standing on behalf of cultural exchange (across the tropics): tropicality

Including musicians from French, Caribbean, and Northern African origins, trOpe independently released their debut ‘Exotic Dancers’ EP in early Spring 2014, after it was mixed by engineer and producer Russell Elevado (D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, Keziah Jones) at Analogypsy Studios in New York, and mastered by Dave Collins (Sting, Joe Cocker, Jonny Lang) in LA. The band has been touring in France and Belgium since then, to much local acclaim.

A second, “New Root Sreet” EP, achieved by the same team as that of “Exotic Dancers,” has been released in May 2015 and trOpe’s first full length album is scheduled for release in Spring 2016.
