Bio
Originally we formed a heavy metalband together with Arne Habils, still our singer, named Innoxious Machine. Elric as the drummer and Jurian as lead guiarist. A nice amount of songs became actual worthy songs and so we started performing at small venues, such as JH Tobit, Fenikshof, JH The Chain and Gasolina. We had the opportunity to record a demo of 5 songs in the Metalcave Studios, but never really made an actual album. This band still exists, but has lost it's flame. Our recent decision to start making new, more progressive/experimental songs is about creating a new flame: same members, same genre, expanded knowledge and combinations of styles. Also a second (melodic metalcore) band has been formed with new musicians, names Arno de Bois (vocals) and Vic Cruybergs (guitar)
Yet we wanted to do something completely different. At the age of 16 we discovered an interest in electronic music, which at first we thought totally sucked ass because of the lack of physical activity on real instruments, but I remember hearing Goa Trance for the first time. It was like a whole new world had opened right then, and it was very strange because although this was electronic music, this didn't suck ass at all. We fell in love with the uptempo rhythm and especially these deep, strange, and spacy synthesized sounds. It sounded like alien technology to us and hearing these patterns and melodies we were instantly reminded of heavy metal. Especially the melodies have so much in common, mainly if you look at the scales, but the Goa Trance melodies sounded WAY more foreign and eastern, which had a huge impact on our perception of music.
So eventually we went to our first Goa Trance party on the most remarkable date nobody will ever forget: 21st December 2012, the day the world would come to an end... That night there was this party called "Tales of the Sun: Apocalypse", our very first meeting with THE culture-shock of our small lives. And so we also discovered Nitzhonot Goa, because of the amazing Agneton who showed up behind the decks.
So eventually, in january 2014 we decided to start our own Nitzhogoa-project, named Triquetra! With the skill of drumming, Elric keeps himself busy making all sorts of kicks and rhythmic patterns, while Jurian uses his knowledge of melody from his guitarplaying-skills to craft melodies fitting to the atmosphere. 'Till the day of now, we made 13 tracks (and counting!!!) using Ableton Live 9, each one to be an improvement.
