Bio

Three Belgians, an Englishman and a Frenchman; the meeting of the Lion of Waterloo, Savile Row and St Germain des Prés.

From influences including (brit)pop, 60’s garage riffs, strong rhythms, northern soul and glamrock, The Vogues form their sound and image.

Well dressed rock’n roll” made to measure. In the great rock tradition, the group comprises two guitarists (Glenn and Ian) who complement one another as a gin does tonic, a singer/frontman (Fab) whose sole purpose is to attract attention and arouse jealousy, a French bassist (Guillaume) grooving in the half-light and a?drummer (Denis), whose sharp hits are matched only by the cut of his tailoring.

Cliché with style”, “They Have Style And They Are Not Afraid To Use It” said the Cutting Edge website, voting The Vogues as “Talent of the week” – a compliment accepted but never overplayed.

The Vogues first concert was at a youth club. Their second was to a capacity crowd, opening for the Dirty Pretty Things.

Since then, The Vogues have played over 100 concerts in the UK, France, Holland, Luxembourg and their native Belgium. High profile fans include Carl Barat (Dirty Pretty Things) and The Drums, both of whom asked The Vogues to open for them. The band have played gigs for magazines including Vice and Blend and, In October 2013, supported Miles Kane to a sell-out audience at the AB (Brussels).

Following their debut EP in 2010, The Vogues album My Tailor is Rich was voted among the 50 best albums of 2011 by Metro magazine. The first single, Dance, was accompanied by a video (director: Dominique Deschacht) and played on Pure FM, FM Brussels, Radio Panik, and a live session for Urgent FM. The band contributed tracks to the Startin Pop 3 and 4 compilations.

Winter 2013 sees the band (Denis, Fab, Glenn, Guillaume and Ian) returning to the studio, with a new single scheduled for release in February 2014.
