The KCreators started out in August 2012 with just Casey singing and Johan playing the guitar. This only lasted two rehearsals. Casey's songwriting convinced Johan to ask his best and oldest friend Joren to join the band. They had been playing together for over 15 years in a band called 18Lanes but The KCreators called on their wish to make new, different music. They started to look for a bass player and a drummer and got some interesting responses but when 'Sas' showed up, she was amazing. Sas doesn’t just play the bass, she kcreates melodies that add so much to the songs. "The search for a drummer took a little longer but Serge really feels the songs and everybody loves the energy he brings to the set." Since 17th of June, Serge is nog longer a part of our band. We've already begun the search for a new drummer. We'll keep you posted. And we got him. Since the 9th September Rob Vermeiren became the new drummer after a well prepared audition and a really open en fun moment with the band we had to let him know the same night. And we did. We called him and told him and we are working to get on stage once again. Casey writes the songs, and brings melodies to the rehearsal. Together it's just a messy, funny, exciting, chaotic time to look for the right chords, that extra note, the right beat, the right feel of the song... And then start to work it out. What is more important? Is it a guitar song? Does it need more bass? Does the drummer have to go mental on this part of the song? Casey has a strong idea about the music she is looking for, but she puts so much faith in what the others bring to the table. Emotions are very important to her as well. If one of the members has a personal issue/problem, or not, maybe he/she is extremely excited about something. Which may then turn out to be exactly what the song needs. Or it may inspire Casey to write a new one, or modify an existing song... As a result, the music they make does not fit a defined “style”. They are working towards creating their very own sound, and they already have established it pretty strongly. It is a mix of a country feel, pop, blues, a bit of rock... it has been said that it sounds somewhere between Lou Reed and Norah Jones, others have said 'old country rock'... but when you go look at the biographies you'll find that they all have their own sources of inspiration, and they all add to the music in their own way.
