De Brusselse groep werd opgericht in 2009 en combineert stevige grooves met hun rockmuziek.

Na de opname van hun EP “The Nightmare Before” in juni 2009, volgt al snel hun eerste full album “Room 101” die ze in april 2011 opnemen in de Sainte-Marthe studio in Parijs. Met producer Francis Caste (The Arrs, Zuul FX, Aqme…) maakt de plaat ook plaats voor gastgitarist Ahrue Luster (Machine Head, Ill Nino), te horen op het nummer “cycle”.

Ter promotie van hun album reist the1984 heel België af met als hoogtepunten de Belgische finale de Hard Rock Café-wedstrijd en de Durbuy Rock fesival (met o.a.Peter Pan Speedrock, Loudblast, Ostrogoth, Cowboys & Aliens).

In 2014 brengt the1984 het eerste luik uit van een muzikale trilogie die opgenomen werd in Piste Rouge studio. De plaat zullen ze op 5 april 2014 voorstellen.

the1984 is a band from Brussels, Belgium, which was created in 2009 and combines solid grooves with their no –compromises rock music.

After their first EP, The Nightmare Before (2009), they recorded their first full album “Room 101” which was recorded at Sainte-Marthe studio in Paris. Together with Francis Caste (The Arrs, Zuul FX, Aqme…) this recording features Ahrue Luster (Machine Head, Ill Nino) on the track “Cycle).

While promoting their album across Belgium, the1984 has gained a strong stage experience with notable highlights at the Durbuy Rock festival (with Peter Pan Speedrock, Loudblast, Ostrogoth, Cowboys & Aliens) and at Belgian final of the Hard Rock Café’s contest.

In 2014, the1984 comes back with a new record, “Self Made”, which is the opening album of their forthcoming musical trilogy. This new record will be released and presented on 5thApril 2014.

Créé en 2009, le groupe bruxellois débute avec pour objectif la mise en place d'un répertoire qui met en avant le groove de leur rock puissant.

Après avoir enregistré son premier EP “ The Nightmare Before ” en juin 2009, le groupe enregistre son premier full album “ Room 101 “ en avril 2011 au Studio Sainte-Marthe à Paris. Sous la direction de Francis Caste (The Arrs, Zuul FX, Aqme), l’album propose notamment un featuring de Ahrue Luster (Machine Head, Ill Nino).

Pour la promotion de l’album, the1984 se produit sans relâche à travers toute la Belgique avec comme prestations remarquées la finale belge du Hard Rock Café et le Durbuy Rock Festival (avec entre autres Peter Pan Speedrock, Loudblast, Ostrogoth, Cowboys & Aliens).

En 2014, le groupe bruxellois revient en force avec le premier volet d’une trilogie enregistré au Studio Piste Rouge à Bruxelles. Ce nouvel opus sortira le 5 avril 2014.
