Tensor was founded in 2017 by Jeroen D'Hauwers, a versatile guitar player in need of an outlet for his metal oriented ideas. To ensure the level of skill required to fulfil his vision, he approached different musicians who had already proven their experience in other bands and projects.

Featuring members of Herfst, The Advent of March, The Dirty Harries and Sanity's Rage, one year after its inception, Tensor released their first demo. The 2018, two track "The Collector" demo, was met with international acclaim, which gave Tensor a good start. 2019 proved they had the qualities of a decent live band with monthly gigs and a decent reputation. After the release of the EP "The Suicide Connection", international media picked up on the band and their live reputation grew.

After a lineup change, two former members of Tèras joined Tensor and the band continued to work on a full length, further shaping and defining their style with influences of melodic death and black metal, mainatining a mix of different influences.
