Bio

Songs Between Two Lands is a band led by Italian vocalist Flavio Spampinato and guitarist Matteo di Leonardo. Born in Brussels, the sextet features French flugelhorn player Pierre-Antoine Savoyat and drummer Pierre Hurty; on piano and double bass, respectively from the Netherlands, Willem Suilen and Ramon van Merkenstein. The music - mainly original compositions by Spampinato and Di Leonardo - is a wide collection of songs interestingly arranged, using a different combination of timbres and atmospheres, using a jazz-derived practice of arrangement and improvisation combined with a contemporary European character and a Mediterranean touch.

After winning the Young Jazz Talent competition at Dinant Jazz 2018 and participating at the Liège Jazz Festival (2019) and Dinant Jazz (2019), the band is willing to record its first studio album.
