My name is Elena Dragicevic, I’m 25 years old, and I’m from Hasselt. As you can see on this profile, my artist name is “Soleni”. Amongst my loved ones, I’m often called “Leni,” and as for the “So,” there’s a little story behind it...

My dad is from Serbia and my mom is from Belgium, and I think it’s fair to say that most of my musical passion and talent comes from my dad. He taught me everything I know and always calls me “sunce”, which means “sun” in Serbian.

I also have a brother who often appears in many of my photos and videos on social media. We used to have a little band of our own called “Eleks”, but eventually our paths went separate ways, which is why I’ll be going solo from here on out.

And lastly, music has always been a home where I feel safe, a place where I can really be myself, so me, so Leni...

To sum it up: Sol-eni, So(lo)leni, So-leni. But, enough about my background, let's talk music!

On this profile, you’ll find most of my music. The ones labeled “original” are my own songs, recorded quite simply with the little knowledge I had at the time. The ones labeled “collaboration” are songs I was invited to sing on. I recorded my own vocals and harmonies, and then sent them over to the very talented Florian Philipp Mueller, who mixed everything together!

If I had to describe my music, I’d call it soft pop with a soul. It’s intimate, emotional, and centered around storytelling. For me personally, lyrics mean a lot and they're what I naturally focus on when writing songs. The melody usually does come first, flowing from hours of playing guitar, and then I try to fit in the lyrics that match the vibe.
