Roxette is a young woman with congolese roots. She has a background in performing arts. Last year, she took the step to make her first footsteps within the music industry with her first EP 'Paradis'.

The EP 'Paradis' creates a space in which the audience is confronted with the narrative of Roxette with the aim of reflecting on the (own) story as a black woman, (re)framing and claiming their own identity and background, and developing a critical view on stereotypes and prejudices.

The project results in an accessible but critical multimedia performance that broadens images while searching for the own identity of a black woman with an African background who grew up in a Western European society. Each performance is accompanied by an interview with its creator, Roxette, which provides the audience with emotional, spiritual, mental and physical stimuli to reflect durably on the narrative she presents to them.

The EP 'Paradis' will be released early summer 2021
