Bio
Arno Roesems (1994 °) from Sint-Ulriks-Kapelle graduated from the KASK conservatory in Ghent in 2017 as a performing classical musician and makes his way through the musical landscape without borders as a freelance saxophone player, teacher and composer. This led him to explore different styles and genres and disciplines to bring improvisation, jazz, contemporary classical music, pop, rock and even theater performance come together
He's influenced by Bob Reynolds, Roy Hargrove, Michael Brecker, Chris Potter and many more contemporary jazz, rock, punk and pop musicians, but is also a student of the older tradition from the beginning of the saxophone by concerto's and chamber music.
Black Harrier
With contemporary jazz in mind, Black Harrier focuses on music that is accessible to listen to with strong grooves, lyrical melodies and room for improvisation and virtuosity. They play a mix of their own compositions and music to which they have lost their hearts to, music by, among others: the YellowJackets, Roy Hargrove and Bob Reynolds.
