Bio

Started as DJ

Robin Luyckx, born in Antwerp, lives in Wachtebeke (close to Ghent), has been working as a producer and DJ in the EDM world since 2012. Robin began his career as DJ Rubyflex in his local youth centre and was allowed to spin at different parties. After a few parties Robin started to get asked to spin at other festivities of local youth movements and school bashes. Before he realised it, he was spinning at bigger clubs like Versuz (Hasselt), Noxx (Antwerp), Club Elegance (Lokeren) … The last few months he also has been booked for different festivals in Belgium and the Netherlands such as Sunrise Festival, Replay Festival and Structure Festival.

Started as producer

Robin wanted more than just spinning records. He wanted to release his own tracks and that seemed to go fairly well. He focused extremely hard on House/EDM/Deephouse and he liked it. He released some tracks on his soundcloud, some without success and some with a bit more success. Before he knew it, he signed his first record “Summerheat” with Michael Bandt, also better known as Michael Fall and label manager of MF Records.

Today the day

Since his first track Summerheat, Robin went under the radar for a while. He ended his DJ project as Rubyflex. He wanted to do something else than House and EDM. Now he’s mostly busy as a Ghostproducer, but still releases music as Robin Luyckx, particularly in the Hip-Hop and Drum ‘n Bass scene. At the moment he mainly makes Hip-Hop beats for rappers and hip-hop collectives and will soon start up a Drum ’n Bass project with DJ and Producer EDEM (Emiel De Mey).
