Rivans started as a band in 2014. The first core of the band was David and Thomas, both guitar players, and Florent, drummer. They all knew each from past musical projects and wanted to start to write tracks according to shared metal and hardcore influences in order to hit the local scenes again ! It was in 2015 that the real adventure started with Mic and Julien joining the band as bass player and singer respectively. The full line-up brought finally the desired intensity and power needed for live-shows. The now-formed band rushed to make five songs ready for a first show in their local town as opening act for french bands The Butcher’s Rodeo and Unswabbed. A few months later in 2015, Rivans was already off on the road for a small tour in France and Belgium as a support act for The Butcher’s Rodeo. In 2016 the band got the chance to play shows in pubs and small clubs : Tassili Bar, Liverpool, P’tit Bitu, Monkey Factory, Canal 10, Le Salon, etc. The band’s priority was given on delivering intense live acts anytime it was given the chance to play no matter as there would be ten or a hundred people in the audience ! In july 2016 the band decided to continue as a four musicians band. The songs were reworked to gain in tightness and maintain the same power and aggression. It was time to go in the studio to be able to give Rivan’s followers and promoters professionally recorded material. The band entered Brussels’ Blackout Studios for two days and recored three tracks. In mai 2017 the first single « We are » was released. Rivans have many projects for its future. There is a growing maturity as a band in the writing process that will soon bring more personal and more emotional material. We are also looking to play more gigs and to hit the road again very soon. Sharing the passion for music with the public remains the main focus !
