René Calvin is worldwide one of the most inspiring bass players and composers of Afro-Brazilian Jazz. While born and raised in Cameroon he always admired Brazilian artists like Baden Powell and Tania Maria. In his 30'ies he found himself playing for famous jazz, pop and rock artists like Alicia Keys, Georges Clinton, Patricia Kaas,...At 40 René discovered his biological father was Brazilian which completely changed his life and music. He injected bossa nova, samba, flamenco and classical music in his already amazing afro-funk-jazz compostions. A rebel pur sang!
