VI.BE

Sails high. Not only are these the first two words on Nemea’s new EP, it’s a metaphor for the band as well. With this record we want to sail into the open sea, show that we’ve made progression as musicians and humans. We’re five guys hailing from a town with a lighthouse, so that shouldn’t be too big of a problem right? In preparation for the recordings of our self titled EP we had to endure many setbacks. Nick and Toon were run over by a car (at different moments), bones were broken and others tore their meniscus to shreds. In combination with other small frictions, It almost made the band implode. It got under all of our skins and felt like the gods were tempering with us and with the path we mapped out for Nemea.

Nevertheless, we washed our slates clean and left these misfortunes behind us. Driven by our personal dark passengers this resulted in six new songs. Songs that display more dynamics and that have more depth. Ever since the release of A Lion Sleeps In The Heart Of Every Brave Man we were determined to write better songs and grow as a band, this resulted in steadily crafting and working towards our own sound. In all modesty we think we succeeded in finding it. On the other hand, we will never be totally satisfied and still feel the urge to improve and progress.

Finally we can present our self titled. Recorded in a convivial atmosphere, Nemea aims to be an authentic and contemporary band, with the drive and the heart to make ourselves count.
