As a singer-songwriter, the main motivation, if it had to be described in one word, would be “doubt », doubting oneself, the songs, the music, the lyrics, the audience…

And yet… songs keep on been written, sometimes folk, sometimes pop/rock, depending on the mood, the set and of course the musical arrangements but always coming from the heart as each song is nothing less and nothing more then a slice of Natalie’s life.

« The promise » ended up semi-finalist at the « UK Songwriting Contest 2011». A big thank you to Fabrice Manzini for the musical arrangements and recording the demo.

“Natalie Monarque” started on her own before becoming a 4 member band which brought up new opportunities, more concerts (Sazz’nJazz, Libr’Air Art Café, Porte Noire, Live Music Café, Den Hopsack, Het Depot,…) and festivals (among others, first act of well known belgian band SUAREZ, to name one).

She now went back to the roots, a voice and a guitar ... although she still loves to share stage with the so many artists she’s met and enjoyed like the king of banjo, Guy Stroobant who himself played along with, just to name a few, BJ Scott, David Mc Neil, Deroll Adams, Bernard Degavre,…

May this be the beginning of a great new chapter...
