Music was there, long before the light of life started to shine for Pieter-Jürgen (P JAY) Hommel, better known as MR.SHAKE. Born in Waspik (The Netherlands) in the year 1983. The year that the CD was introduced on the dutch market, Studio Brussel started broadcasting & Michael Jackson's album "Thriller" was world's best selling record, so MR.SHAKE was destined to go in the music bizz.

A few years later MR.SHAKE felt totally in love with, then common, tapes. At the age of 2 he was interested in one thing only: unrolling them! Destined to…

Now seriously, the first years: MR.SHAKE started with music class when he lived in The Netherlands at the age of about 8. His soft spot was the Saxophone, and thanks to his enormous lung capacity he was allowed to play it at such an extraordinary young age. It went really well and MR.SHAKE was even playing for the local Harmony at the age of 10/11. Badly enough an allergic reaction to copper meant he had to quit. As his passion for music was unstoppable, he started to DJ. In the year 1994, at the age of 11, he worked hard and bought his first DJ kit. As starter he played at his own 12'th birthday party and even as youngster at a High capacity club "De Kelder" (Hank, The Netherlands).

With the switch from elementary to high school, he moved with his parents to Belgium. Another break from music, but at the age of 16 he started for the 3rd time. And you know the words… 3rd time… So he started organizing his own Poolparties (APPAMP: American Pool Parties At My Place), throwed a lot of demos and started at a local youth club: JC Ahoy (Wijnegem, Belgium). In a short amount of time he became resident on fridays over there. On saturdays MR.SHAKE went weekly to Highstreet (Hoogstraten, Belgium) to visit one of his biggest influencers: DJ F.R.A.N.K. and of course to F.R.A.N.K.'s shop during the week to share stories with fellow colleagues.

During the years that followed it slightly became bigger and bigger. Till 2011 the year madness started: His first Tomorrowland performance. MR.SHAKE loved the mad crowd, and more important they loved him! Till today, no year passed that he didn't perform at Worlds Best Festival (According to IDMA).
