Moira Lú
maybe the truth doesn't rhyme with the rhythm of time
Bio
Belgium-based Moira Lú (Marie Van den Bogaert) comes to terms with melancholy in her self-released debut album, 'Essential Melancholy' which came out on October 13, 2022. The album inspires to be a soulful ode to the importance of mental health, and finding a sense of calm during times of change.
She teamed up with Jussi De Nys (Morisse Monty) for the production and mix, and with musicians Etienne Gijselinckx (bass), Martijn Van den Broek (drums, percussion), and Cedric De Lat (trumpet). With this debut, she establishes herself in a fusion of pop, neo-soul, and jazz. Her go-to artists are Jamie Woon, Solange, Jordan Rakei and Joni Mitchell.
Moira Lú approaches her songwriting insightfully with a profound love for vocal harmony, electric piano sounds, and lyric writing.
