After going through different forms and names, Mind Echoes ( formerly Sambucae ) emerged in early 2017. The Brussels-based band was born out of the friendship between the two lead guitarists, Dany Rexhep and Sebastien Stroobans. Very close during their childhood, they lost touch in their teens. Dany followed classic guitar lessons at the Academy in Ixelles and Forest for 6 years. Over this same period, Sébastien was building a distinct rock guitar sound, taking private lessons. They reconnected in 2010 and started composing together and the idea of forming a band became obvious. A year later, Pascal Goossens, the drummer, joined the duo and spiced things up with his sometimes subtle, sometimes explosive beats. Dimitri Bardunov, who studied art at the ERG and taught himself music, brings his voice, tainted with Grunge, to the current formation. Mind Echoes plays Initiatory Rock, firmly rooted in the 60’s rock’n roll, the eastern and celtic overtones and the sounds of the greatest Indian sitarists and Flamenco guitarists. With the desire to connect beings through music, Mind Echoes invites you into the depths of their spirits through their sonic storytelling.
