Mean Old Man is a four-headed band dealing in raw riffs, groovy melodies, and zero BS.

These Noorderkempen natives rip through pop rock and blues like it’s their last night on stage. Loud, tight, and straight to the heart. Up front, Jana’s voice can melt butter one minute and blow the roof off the next.

Mean Old Man is the fun kind of trouble: a little rough around the edges, but deadly serious about making you move.

History

Laurens, Dennis and Hannes first teamed up in 2019 with Foolsgold, bringing raw, unfiltered energy to the stages of the Noorderkempen. After a few years of chaos and fun, they hit pause to try something new with a bit more groove.

Hannes and Dennis already had a history together in Four of a Kind (2010), a cover band that proved just how much a strong female voice can elevate the music. Enter Jana Schrauwen, fired up and ready to rumble. With her in the mix, Mean Old Man found its gritty and groovy sound.

And since we’ve already passed our quarter-life crisis, we’re here to make this a real thing, not just another musical fling.
