As matoka, Yarno blends his love for rhythmically complex music with his diverse musical influences, creating a unique sound that reflects his rich musical background. His fascination with produced music led him to explore a wide array of genres, from trap and hip-hop to techno and dubstep, and finally to jazz and improvised music. For this project he brings drum processing from electronic music into the world of a live jazz performance, and doesn’t stop there. There are mostly simple structures: loops, trance-like chords with post-bop'ish lines. where improvisation stays as a main form of communication between musicians throughout the pieces. This has been an active process for years, with the concert in Flagey being the start of a promising future.
