WONDERINSOUL is the alter ego of Product Designer Gaëtan Phillipe Kerckhove (Kortrijk, BE) in which he combines a passion for exploring / experimenting with sound and the recently discovered Singer-Songwriter formula.

Early in life GPK was already playing around with DAW's like FruityLoops, but around 10 years ago he bought his first controller with Ableton live 9 and started exploring sound design. In addition the collection of tools began to grow, while others in mid-life were presumed to buy a sports car, GPK started to have interest in playing guitar. "Where have you been all my life?"

Making and playing music has been very challenging the last couple of years. "I was always more into electronic music, but learning to play the guitar and dipping my toes in singer-songwriting made me doubt in which direction to go."

Some songs seemed beter acoustically but then again missed the overal feel and atmosphere I was used to. "It felt like I was lost and haven't discovered my genre yet."

This continuously ping-ponging between sound designing, playing the guitar and writing lyrics, has led to some great results. "But are we ever ready?"

Always wandering, wondering and in wonder for what's next. Like most (late) 30ish somethings, GPK is still wondering what to do in life. There always been one constance tho, creating.

ROADS is a song that delves deeper in this wandering theme, sometimes meeting the right people or that one special person can change you're path.

TIDES then again questions ones mortality and "for better and for worse", there will always be sunshine after the rain <3
