MAF stands for Music, Art and Funk - A project initiated by guitarist, composer and bandleader Arthur Maes (born in Schaerbeek on November 23, 1982). His Brussels sextet (guitar / alt sax / tenor sax / trombone / bass / drums) interprets his works with him since 2009. The combo has been joined recently (2012) by the soft and soulfull voice Soul T, a well known figure in the Brussels Soul scene.

Somewhere in between Blue Note and Motown, M.A.F. Orquesta & Soul T plays a fusion of music styles such as blues, funk, jazz & soul.

A surprising result of a group that has put down their own identity in nowadays musical landscape.

MAF staat voor Music, Art en Funk - een project en initiatief van gitarist, componist en orkestleider Arthur Maes (geboren te Schaerbeek op 23 november 1982). Zijn Brussels quintet (gitaar/sax/trombone/bas/drums) interpreteert samen met hem zijn werken. Onlangs heeft de zachte en soulvolle stem Soul T, gekend figuur in de Brusselse Soul scene, hen vervoegd. Soul T speelde voorheen met talentvolle artisten zoals onder andere Nuffsaid, Stromae, Maurice Poto.

Ergens tussen Motown en Blue Note in komt MAF Orquesta & Soul T met muziek die genres als jazz, funk, soul en blues versmelt.

Een verrassend resultaat van een group die zijn eigen moderne identiteit heeft neergezet in het muzikaal landschap van vandaag.
