Lupa Javanaise
Lupa was born in the Netherlands, lives in Belgium and sings & plays the ukulele that suits her choice of Indonesian and Malayan songs from the 1940 - 1970ties!
Bio
Through Indonesian songs she knows from her childhood, Lupa connects to her Indonesian roots. A lot of the songs are about the astonishing nature in Indonesia (which is often endangered).
Family who introduce her to songs, material she finds on internet:In her search for songs that appeal to her, she finds material from different areas and era's that she adapts for her voice and ukulele. A performance can be with Lupa solo on stage or with children as described below.
She started performing at small events and from there she moved on to performing at festivals with a unique concept: a combination of a workshop & performance. Children make Wayang Karton puppets and accompany her on stage when she sings the songs: They get an introduction in another language and culture and have respect for nature, mother earth.
