Lay on Hands was formed in september 2017 by Koen Souffriau, Wouter Lemmens and Nickolas Sergeant. Soon after that, our drummer Wannes Van Varenbergh joined the band. A month later, Wouter and Koen were thinking of adding a second guitarist. They started searching and quickly found out that Steve Laureyns, a good friend of Wouter would be a good fit.

After jamming, and playing some covers of the bands "For the Fallen Dreams" and "The Ghost Inside", the band wanted to go their own way. That's what they did, and Wouter started writing new material for their first EP. Koen then started writing lyrics for the songs and things went fast from there. Wannes tweaked the drums a little more, Steve wrote the beginriff to the song "Hollow". Nickolas wrote some good basslines for this song too. They soon started the recording of their first EP at studio 17B in Liège. The band couldn't be happier with the end result.

Lay on Hands can be described as pure metal with breakdowns. Although some may call it metalcore, they don't aim for a certain genre. In the future, the band will continue searching for its own sound and will be writing more heavy music.
