In recent years, Antwerp-based KRANKk explored the possibilities of the immersive concert experience. Thomas Geysen (drums), Aram Abgaryan (keys) and Willem Heylen (guitar, electronics) studied at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, where they found each other through their love of electronic music. The trio grew up with Jungle, Drum & Bass, Dubstep and UK Garage. In 2022 and 2023, they wrecked Pukkelpop with an innovative concept that literally immersed the audience in sound, in collaboration with Pioneer and Kage Audio. In April 2023 they presented their immersive "GENESIS" project at the Blueprint festival in DE SINGEL, where they created an intense 360° experience in both sound and image through images on large screens. At the end of 2023, KRANKk realized the inclusive "AAA project" for the deaf community, together with gala dragot and Argentina Cirillo. The project focused on studying and improving the accessibility of live performance for deaf people. This social and inclusive approach also fits perfectly with "RESET" of 2021, their successful performance in collaboration with platform K., which has been experienced at Bozar, DE SINGEL and viernulvier, among others. Despite all this experimentation with sound and experience, the trio doesn't lose sight of what it's essentially all about: making great new music and delivering a rebelious live act that commands the dancefloor.
