korovyev, referring to Bulgakov's novel 'The Master and Margherita', is the disc-jockey alias of Leon Heirbaut (he/him). Catching feelings for Dj'ing early on in life, it was the pandemic forcing him to spend many hours behind the decks as a cure for the excess of spare time.

Being Ghent-based discovering the post-covid club scene meant a lot of nights on the Funke dancefloor and an occasional excursion to the ever-vibrant capital. Hearing a great variety of club sounds on the floor nourished his digger-spirit and slowly shaped an eclectic taste in electronic music,. Inspired by new-found DJ heroes, almost all mixing vinyl, he switched to wax shortly after, intensifying the passion and joy in collecting and playing music. Shortly after a weekly visit to the record store has become routine, leaving no crate unsearched.

Over three years of dedicated digging and practice have since resulted in a broad collection, ranging from all kinds of house music to psychedelic proto, EBM and new beat. This has started to pay off, too. Korovyev has made his way onto a few smaller, local lineups, building confidence and gaining valuable experience. Slowly but surely preparing for the next step.
