An idea that started in a blue painted room with posters of long forgotten pop bands and cd’s she stole from her parents’ music collection. From classical music ’til pop, rock and folk.

It started one day in 2013, during a rock concours called “Lawijtstrijd”, where she met some pretty talented musicians. With a heart for music they decided to collaborate and soon enough they played their first show at another rock concours, Rockorama by Crammerock, which they won. That was the first moment where Julie felt like her solo project was no longer her own.

Soon after, she moved to Cape Town in South Africa, and lost her heart there for the following 7 years. Surrounded by waves, mountains, a beautiful mix of cultures and sceneries, she eventually found her way back to music and the electric guitar. Bedroom recordings and her loop became her favourite creative outlet and opened a new door in her musical journey.

Now back home in Belgium, she's on a mission to tell a story of her own. She decided to become just who she is, Julie Brondeel.
