Jens Lynen (°1989), 3rdPrizewinner at the Citta di Padova International Music Competition 2011, started his higher education in 2006 with Guido de Neve at the Royal Conservatoire in Antwerp. After obtaining his degree with Double First Class Honours, Jens moved to London to study with Krzysztof Smietana at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and with Radu Blidar at the Royal College of Music, incorporating the Robert MacFazdean Whyte scholarship, a Leverhulme Postgraduate Studentship and scholarships by the Robus Foundation and Royal Antwerp Conservatoire Foundation. In addition to his violin studies he played in master classes with Midori, Igor Ozim, Dora Schwarzberg, Lewis Kaplan, Raphael Oleg and Liviu Prunaru.

Jens appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in numerous venues across Europe and worked with various chamber music ensembles under the guidance of members of the Belcea Quartet, Florestian Trio and Jens Peter Mainz. Recent highlights include live appearances on BBC Radio 3, Radio Klara, the Aurora Chamber Music Festival (Sweden) and at the Young Virtuosi Festival (France). He is also a founding member of the Tetragonist piano quartet whose debut album - released by label Aliud in 2014 - has received international acclaim.

As an orchestral player, Jens has performed across Europe and the USA, working with renowned conductors such as Bernard Haitink, Sir Colin Davis, Sir Roger Norrington, Vladimir Jurowski, Vladimir Ashkenazy and John Adams. He also took part in the 'London Symphony Centre for Orchestra' programme.

In 2013-2014, Jens is holding the prestigious 'Constant and Kit Lambert' Junior Fellowship for the Artist Diploma Course at the Royal College of Music in London.
