Xander Lauwkens, better known as Ill Frey was born in Lommel (Belgium) and is currently living in Hasselt.

At the age of 17 he learned the art of freestyling which gives him a love to make music.

After 2 successful demo's on YouTube he decides to drop more, which leads to his first official single Duidelijkheid.

Making music means therapy to him, an important aspect of feelings. From the base of hip-hop and vocals he brings tracks with elements from every genre.

Early 2021 he announced ill season (the beginning). A year where he released 4 singles and his debut EP SPOORLOOS "This ep introduces myself as an artist and person. The fact that I want to combine different genres comes to the fore here"

In 2022 you can expect a lot from him. many projects including an album as a follow-up to SPOORLOOS. Progress and dreams are written. He already explains it with Negatief

The 2nd track of this season Kwetsbaar takes you to other sounds. He tells you about the fact that love made him vulnerable and that he prefers to be alone.

"After being lost, u will find clarity and selfrespect. Pain will make u stronger if u are spiritual connected. That's why my next album will describe the pain openly."

next release: 11juli - MY MIND, on SoundCloud.
