Bio

Marcello Conti is an award-winning jazz pianist and composer whose musical signature blends a rigorous academic background with an intense international performing career. Currently based in Brussels, Conti stands as one of the most solid and promising emerging voices on the contemporary European jazz scene.

His artistic maturity is the result of an elite educational path under the guidance of world-renowned masters such as Fred Hersch, Diederik Wissels, Fabrizio Puglisi, Giovanni Mazzarino, and Melo Mafali. These influences have forged a refined pianistic language, capable of balancing profound lyricism with a modern mastery of improvisation and composition.

Conti’s talent has been recognized through major international accolades: in 2025, he won 1st Prize at the XII Johnny Răducanu International Jazz Festival (Romania) and the Special Prize at the 31st EUROPAfest in Bucharest. In Italy, he distinguished himself by winning 2nd prize at the prestigious Premio Luttazzi for young jazz composers.

Already a regular on international stages, Conti has collaborated with true jazz legends, most notably the historic bassist Chuck Israels (of the Bill Evans Trio), as well as Javier Girotto, Gunter "Baby" Sommer, and Blaise Siwula. These collaborations, combined with his ongoing exploration of the piano trio and solo piano formats, testify to his ability to engage at the highest levels of the global jazz scene.
