Bio

DJ-profile: Réno

Réno Lefevre, simply known as Réno, is a Belgium-based artist whose sets are built on rhythm,

space and instinct. Raised in a musical family with a drummer father, a multi-instrumentalist

mother and a piano-playing brother... music was always there. He began as a drummer, before

discovering electronic music through Flume, who remains a key influence to this day.

Réno’s musical world is shaped by his sensitivity to rhythm and emotion. His sets are grounded

in percussive foundations... not formulaic or peak-driven, but layered, patient and subtly tense.

He plays with textures that evolve slowly, inviting the listener into something immersive and

timeless.

Inspired by artists like Tal Fussman, Laurent Garnier, Bonobo, Jeff Mills, Floating Points,

Kaytranada and Vince Watson, Réno gravitates toward complex rhythms and atmospheric

sounds that blur the line between movement and contemplation.

While still unreleased as a producer, he’s continuously shaping his sound. As a student in Idea &

Innovation Management, he also explores how cultural and sonic trends emerge... sharpening

his instinct for fresh, forward-thinking sounds.

Beyond the booth, Réno curates Melkfabric, a series of intimate club events he organises with

his brother inside his mother’s restaurant... a former industrial dairy turned restaurant,

transformed at night into a warm, raw nightlife sanctuary. These self-initiated nights allow him to

experiment freely and share his musical vision with a local crowd.

He has played at various smaller events across Belgium, and had the chance to warm up for

artists like Cellini and Olivier Adams (Praga Khan)... formative experiences that deepened his

path and widened his perspective.

Note from Réno

I’ve never been great at explaining what I do. I often let the music speak for itself... maybe

because rhythm has always come more naturally than words. As a kid, I played drums. My family

played everything from sax to flute to piano. And when electronic music entered my life, it felt

like a continuation of something I already knew.

What I search for in music isn’t volume or speed... it’s feeling. That moment when a groove

breathes, when time bends, when something opens up that you can’t name. That’s what I try to

create when I play... whether it’s for five people or fifty.

My sets are not about control, they’re about release.

With rhythm, with space, with soul.

As Derrick May once said:

“Life is life & rhythm is rhythm.”
