After a pivotal writing session in 2019 Arnout Smeets felt he was serious about releasing his own music at some point. Until then he had been playing music as a percussionist for over 10 years. First with 2008 Humo’s Rock Rally finalist Roadburg which in 2012 continued as Whiz with a slightly different line up (Siegfried Smeets, Thibault Vaninbroukx, Sam Kaerts, Arnout Smeets) and in 2019 with Antwerp based Indie rock band Kabongo, also together with Sam Kaerts.

Together with guitarist and music enthusiast Willem Roose there were more than a few writing sessions over the course of two years during which songs took shape. Home Still is a solo project, but after songs have been written it extends beyond the person. Friends are invited to play on record or live.

In 2020 Home Still released a first single ‘Near but Far’ and an extended single ‘Where Did She Go / Geneva’. Recorded, mixed and mastered at Studio Jupiter by Koenraad Foesters.
