Heikki Rasilo Band
Heikki Rasilo's music, from folk ballads to energetic bluesy/rocky pieces, combines strong storytelling, haunting vocal melodies, and unpredictable chord progressions.
Bio
Heikki Rasilo is a singer-songwriter, born in a small town in Finland. After playing in Finnish bands since young age, he started writing original material while living in Spain and later in Belgium. Now his pictorial songs tell stories about unique people involved often in conflicting life situations – an old circus artist struggling for his dignity (as in Circus Song) or a man on a snowy war field tormented with guilt (Song for a Brother). His music, varying from folk ballads to energetic bluesy/rocky pieces, is driven by haunting vocal melodies, and smooth but unpredictable chord progressions. He plays solo or with a varying constellation including Andy Deavin (Bass), Pierre Schifflers (Drums), Leo Luy (Guitar) and Johan Loeckx (Keyboards).
