Grondstof (written as grondstof) is a three-piece band from Antwerp. Some say they're a tad dramatic, while others find them chaotic or too quiet. Honestly, they don't know themselves.

They do know that they admire Slowdive's sonic escapes, are moved by Low's beauty, and are simultaneously scared and fascinated by the darkness that permeates Molina's work.

Eventually, they just make a lot of noise, whether it's distorted guitars or cranked up synths. You wanted it darker, right?

DENIER [live recording] 2025: New music — and it's live! We took over Tooth Mountain Studio and recorded two of our songs. First, there's a nine-minute jam-based rendition of DENIER that evolves into sonic landscapes. We had the pleasure to explore a Moog synthesizer — let me tell you, it's fun! COMEBACK is added as a favorite of ours.

We owe eternal thanks to Rafael for holding our hands and mixing this beauty! Big thanks as well to Niklas, an old pal, for putting together all the random videos we recorded with phones attached to helmets and guitars. We never imagined this turns out so well.

COMEBACK [demo EP] 2024: We are delighted to announce the release of our very own, self-produced EP. With these three demo songs, we aim to take you on a sonic journey.

First, COMEBACK is an experimental piece driven by a choppy tremolo fuzzy bass that transports you to a dystopian zombie apocalypse. The second is DELAY, an ode to our slowcore heroes, Low. It features duet vocals and a slow rhythmic drum track, attempting to capture the magical interaction between Alan and Mimi (rest in peace). The third is called RUB, an alt folk-inspired song at first that develops into a trip hop volcano before leading you to join us in darkness eventually.
