Bio

Gašper Piano is a Brussels' based composer, musician and sound artist that regularly performs his compositions live with guitar, effects & computer.

He is active as an independent artist for performative arts (theatre, contemporary dance, performance), visual arts (multimedia projects, installations, exhibitions, film, documentary film, video, TV projects) and acoustic-experimental-electronic music groups. His works have been presented at national and international festivals, exhibitions, multimedia projects, contemporary dance performances and theater plays. In 2006 he was acknowledged as a budding artist by the Slovenian Ministry of Culture. Paralell with his music profession he studied at the Faculty for Humanistiec Studies Koper (Sl) where he graduated in 2009 and received Master professional degree (MPD) in social anthropology and culturology

After 2012 Gašper became involved with many international projects, collaborating with various established choreographers, theater/movie directors, contemporary dancers, actors/performers, musicians and visual artists; Davis Freeman (Random Scream), Salva Sanchis, Georgia Vardarou (Kunst/Werk) Roberto Olivan, Mala Kline, Ivo Dimchev, Moya Michael,Renan Martins (ME-SA), Sonja Feriencikova (BOD.Y), Urban Arsenjuk, Sara Vertongen (Het Nieuwstedelijk), Katie Vickers, Benjamin Pohlig (Kosmonaut Produsction), Jennifer Regidor (Danscompagnie Lune) etc. During this period of collaborations he also created sound installations in Slovenia (Museum of Recent History Celje/It's Time to Play, Zavod Celeia Celje/The Shimmering of the Cursed) and author video projects (The Art of Not Being Here, What's Written at the End and Skinned Knee - visual poetry for lonely souls). Before 2012 Gašper collaborated with prominent Slovenian movie/theater directors, composers and visual artists; Miran Zupani?, Vinko Moederndorfer, Mitja Vrhovnik Smrekar, Mark Požlep, students of AGRFT (Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television) and artistic group KUD 567 & White Cross Productions. Besides his numerous music projects he also composed music for the first Balkan movie Ulrik Celjski i Vladislav Hunyadi, presented composition Trubadurjeva pesem for the National Day of Culture in 2010 and wrote musical 'metamorphosis' of the first Slovenian ballet Moži?ek for the National Day of Culture in 2012. By now hie presented his work in different countries; Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bolgaria, Greece, Israel, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, Norway, Belgium Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, JAR, Mexico, Brazil and Columbia.
