Flex Trio is a guitar trio with Casimir Ostyn (guitar, compositions), Mathias Vercammen (drums) and Trui Amerlinck (double bass). The name refers to the flexibility by which different kinds of guitars and musical genres come forward. The trio’s repertoire consists of original compositions and arrangements of jazz, pop, and classical tunes.

Casimir Ostyn studied jazz and classical guitar at the Lemmensinstituut in Leuven with Peter Hertmans and Roland Broux. He was leader of the band Five Waves and now plays in different musical projects such as Bernie The Trader (fusion), Lux Sono (world music) and Mountain Clouds (blues, folk).

Trui Amerlinck studied jazz bass with Jos Machtel, Frans Verhoeven and Nic Thys. Currently, she plays bass with Ivy Falls, An-Sofie Noppe and Satin Dolls. Since 2016 Trui is a member of Tsar B, the latest project of Justine Bourgeus (School is Cool). She also has her own group, TRVI and leads a string quartet (Another String Quartet).

Mathias Vercammen studied jazz drums at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp with Jan de Haas and Teun Verbruggen. He also studied with Stéphane Galland and Dré Pallemaerts. He plays in the Ghent Youth Jazz Orchestra, with Harrisson Steingueldoir and in a trio with Stan Callewaert and Elias Storme. In addition to these projects, he composes for big band and is the director of the Big Swing Band.
