Bio
The Evenos String Quartet was founded in 2012 at the Folkwang university of the Arts in Essen, Germany. They started in Andreas Reiner´s class (first violinist of the Rosamunde quartet) who has an important impact as a mentor on their continuous journey as a professional string quartet.
The members, originating from three different European countries, welcome diversity and experimentation. This reveals itself in their choice of repertoire, which stretches from more standard repertoire like Joseph Haydn and Beethoven quartets to pieces of modern composers like Arvo Pärt, Dieter Schnebel and Boris Yoffe.
Today the Evenos String Quartet appears regularly on stages in Germany, Belgium and other. In the summer of 2014 and 2015 they completed successful concert tours on the islands of Crete and Santorini in Greece. During these tours they were given the chance to share their experience and enthusiasm with music students of all ages.
In November 2014 the Evenos String Quartet made their debut with their performance in the WDR open auditions in Köln. Later on in spring 2015 the Quartet won first place in the 26th international competition ‘Paper de Música de Capellades’. Since September 2015 the Evenos String Quartet continues their development with the prestigious study of Konzertexamen at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen and as scholarship members of the Villa Musica foundation. Till now the Quartet was honored to perform with renowned artists as Claudio Bohórquez, Gareth Lubbe and Julian Arp.
