Dom Benigno is a composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Oslo, Norway. Originally from Johannesburg, Dom was influenced by his father’s musicality from an early age and learned to play the piano when he was only 5 years old. He also learned how to master the drums, the accordion, the harmonica and the guitar, but the piano remains his first love and he’s widely known for his solo improvisations.

Having worked as a professional musician for 12 years, he’s collaborated and played with a colourful range of musicians from all corners of the world encompassing a variety of genres including pop, rock, blues, reggaes, jazz, hip-hop, psychedelic trance and electronic dance. He plays the keys and the accordion with the Jack Mantis Band and Plush, and tours with singer-song writer Stefan Dixon. He’s also the voice of Soundlanguage, a DJ and live performance duo act that he started together with his childhood friend Hugo Gravito. Dom is currently working on two experimental solo projects where he’s interweaving acoustic recordings with electronic elements. The first one a soundscape of synth-driven tracks shifting between electro house, electronica, dance and minimalistic ambience. His second project is a more downtempo compositions of intimate post-classical symphonies.

Like the artist himself, his music can be hard to define and blurs the boundaries between various genres, a testament to his sonic philosophy: music is music is music.
