Being an 80s kid, DI MARTINELLI gorged on all everything he could find in his father’s record collection. In The Future, these influences would lace his own recordings, resulting in deeply felt techno beats with sophisticated electronica sampled straight out of Antwerp nightlife.

DI MARTINELLI’s youngest release, The Cycle, is a track is meant to be played on repeat. While repetitive, it somehow feels novel at every turn. Maybe it’s the surprising (but dim) metallic din of the synths. Maybe it’s the reverberating vocals. Maybe it’s that double-time beat that eggs on the track straight to its bittersweet end. More likely, what you’re hearing is a producer who has found a way to blend elegance with electronics, capturing a club feel as well as a certain serenity.
