In 2010 on the country side of Ertvelde four youngsters threw their influences together and formed the band “The Hook”. They create a mash-up sound of different genres (rock, blues, pop, garage,…), which gives the band their typical sound.

In April 2012 they recorded their first EP “Significant Mainstream” in Nippersound Studio together with Marc Bonne (drummer of Broken Glass Heroes, Toy, …) and was released in the beginning of 2013. In the context of this release they changed the band name into “Dead Vets”.
