A late night jam resulting in the song “Oui” was the spark that set the Bungalow flame. “This funny thing came as a total surprise, this song just arrived, it found us rather than vice versa. Usually, our jams end with musique noire, often cinematic.” As the song immediately fell into place, the trio chose Bungalow as their band name, sent out a demo and signed a deal with Depot 214, the record label of Joël Grignard (Monsoon, My TV is Dead,…).

Singer Charlotte and multi-instrumentalist Joris form a duo not only in music but also in life. They’ve been making music together since they met in Ghent, over a decade ago. They started indie band Nova Scotia with whom they’ve released 2 albums so far.

With saxophone player Joël, longtime friend and musical soulmate of Charlotte and Joris (and years ago even their neighbour in Ghent), Bungalow is complete.

Their first single “Oui, j’aime bien le tralala” is a feelgood song with a summer vibe that combines crazy and mellow and that easily gets stuck in your head.

Bungalow are currently working on more material, with French lyrics as well as English.

Charlotte Nuytens

Singer of Belgian indie band Nova Scotia (trip hop, pop) and of Red Elmo (pop) whose song “And in your head” was recently chosen to feature on the 2nd ‘Belgian Nuggets’ compilation (Mayway Records).

Joris van Eeckhoven

Joris takes care of guitars, drums and programming in Belgian indie band Nova Scotia. In earlier years, Joris played in bands like Awayk, Sylpher, Lumen and Deer Mountain. In 2002 he wrote and performed a live score to Robert Wiene’s silent movie ‘Das Kabinett des Doktor Caligari’ (1919).

Joël Hollenberg

Actor and saxophone player Joël is a member of the Kortrijk based band Fish On Land and frequently performs live with - amongst others - DJ Tim Seynaeve (bossa techno sax impro).
