Boxton 400w, aka Ioana Mandrescu, was trained as a classical pianist in École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris and Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels.

From 2014 onward she has been involved in several interdisciplinary projects, bringing together classical music, film, light installations, stage design and video projections, presented in Brussels and abroad: in 2015 as part of Bozar Music Opening Night, and in 2016 during Festival Courants d'Airs and FAMA Festival in Poland.

As soloist and as member of various chamber music groups, she performed in the most prestigious concert halls in Belgium (Bozar, MIM, Great Hall of the Brussels Conservatory), France (Paris, Orléans – Salle de L'Institut), Germany (Trossingen Conservatory), Spain (Málaga – Teatro Cervantes), Iran (Tehran) and Romania.

She is one of the founding members of two contemporary music ensembles: Opia, based in Belgium, and Quivir, based in Switzerland.

Apart from her busy activity as a classical and contemporary music performer she is a passionate sound artist and electronic music producer.
