Anubis was born in Cabo Verde, but raised in Antwerp, Belgium. Always fond of writing and Hip Hop music (and Hip Hop culture in general), he started rapping in Dutch with his brother and friends at the end of the 90’s. Anubis produced all beats for their group (basement producer at the time), De Rapperz van de Ronde Tafel, and also rapped under the moniker G-Tone (aka G The One). In the beginning of the 2000s the group got disbanded and Anubis (also a science nerd) concentrated on his academic career, earning a PhD along the way. Now years later Anubis revisits his first love and has started making beats once again, sometimes accompanied by G-Tone and other times by other members of his family (totally voluntarily of course!).
