Bio

Emotional techno, dirty bass lines, uplifting house.

AMARE's sound is best described as deep, melodic, sensuous, sassy, with an exotic hint, and a joyful touch. Although there is a clear preference for dirty rolling basslines, you may expect something unexpected - AMARE will play what you need to hear in that specific setting and context, she'll effortlessly cross genres and take you on a journey.

AMARE started producing in 2019 and has so far released on Katermukke, Tanzgemeinschaft, Krafted, XTR Records, Sunexplosion, Chrom Recordings, and many more. She's in high demand for remix duties and always delivers surprisingly refreshing tracks, not bothering to choose a style, but always stylish. Several of her releases reached high in the charts and were supported by, among others, Guy Gerber, Dirty Doering, Furia, Enrico Sangiuliano .... After releasing her first full EP, AMARE was invited to do a guest mix for BBC Radio 1.

AMARE has shared the stage with Joris Voorn, Adriatique, Marek Hemmann, Boris Brechja, Butch, Hosh, Recondite, Claptone, Matador, Laurent Garnier, Oliver Koletzki, Einmusik, Patrice Baumel, Kevin De Vries, ... and the list goes on.

She continues to add to her international roster of global leaders in nightlife venues & festivals including Tomorrowland (BE), Burning Man (US), Sonne Mond Sterne festival (DE), Watergate (DE), Afrikaburn (ZA), Midsummer Bling (EE), Fuse (BE), Public Works SF (US), TBA Brooklyn (US), El Sótano (CR), Labyrinth Open (HR), Zodiak (BE), Woo Studio (HK), Euriska (IN), Kiwiburn (NZ), The Alchemist (KE), Cirque Magique (BE), Paradise City Festival (BE), MN Roy (MX), One54 Culture (UG), Modular (ZA), Peculiar Gatherings (CY), Cairo Jazz Club (EG), B4 (TZ), Irgendwo (DE), Loftus Hall (DE), 911 (EE), Extrema Outdoor Belgium, and many more.

From a very early age, AMARE has understood the power of music. Her parents sent her to ballet school as a toddler, since then she has been dancing every day of her life. First to classical music, later to jazz, hiphop, and rock ‘n roll. She enrolled in music school and learned to play flute and accordion. As a teenager, she discovered electronic music. Dancing the night away on those deep, underground beats became her weekly therapy.

After high-school, AMARE chose for an academic career and studied the whole range of human sciences. Meanwhile, she travelled the world and was influenced by different cultures and music genres, what you can hear in her music selection. AMARE knows what people need – which makes her an excellent crowd reader and music selector. Her goal is to let you forget about your daily hassles, so that you completely unwind on the dancefloor.

In her aim to bring like-minded people together, AMARE contributed actively to the electronic music scene in her home city, Brussels. She helped organizing several events and festivals [FTRSND (future sound); Brussels Electronic Marathon, an urban festival whose mission is to promote local artists and collaboration between the different collectives in the city; Cirque Magique].

But it was only in 2016, after finishing her PhD, that AMARE bought the equipment and started to learn how to DJ. With her striking energy, combining different genres effortlessly, and always bringing the right tune for the right moment, she wowed the crowd everywhere she played. Already one year later, she was booked at the biggest festival in the world, Tomorrowland, warming up for Tale of Us, Mind Against, Hunter/game, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, ...

Also in 2017, AMARE started her own party concept, AUDACIOUS, where she invites artists whose music she loves. More and more international gigs made it difficult to combine her academic career with performing in the weekend. AMARE decided to take a break from teaching at the university and she now focuses full-time on her music career.
