fected by electronic music in 2005 through the discovery of James Holden’s remix of nathan fakes masterpiece “the sky was pink.” IJsbreker took his first steps in the art of dj’ing, experimenting in the local youth house with cd players and computer software. When dubstep originates, he bought his first pieces of wax and finally his 1210's in 2009. He hasn’t stopped exploring (electronic) music ever since. His deep love of technology drives him to combine the new and the old, the digital and the analog.

Before COVID he was spinning under different aliases.

Moving to Ghent in 2014, he was mostly enjoying the local nightlife scene as an avid dancer. During lockdown the dance stopped, and he rediscovered the decks.

IJsbreker was born. Since then he filled dance floors in BROEI, Charlatan, Decadance, Giraf, FUNKE,…

Monthly he has his appearance as a host on the radio show 40 fingers Cartel on Urgent.fm

Depending on the venue, crowd & mood he takes you on a musical journey that can be funky, groovy, tribal, organic, dubby. The icy line in his sets you’ll find in percussive elements, amen breaks and everything with a strong soul.

He breaks boundaries between styles and genres. All to keep it interesting for the crowd but also for his soul as a dj.

He won't stop till he breaks the ice and shakes the dancefloor!
