Wannes Lambeens is a Brussels-based musician who started making free music around 2021 primarily in the context of the improv-duo ’Three hardcore tunes + one lo-fi ballad’ with Julian Verberckmoes, which later expanded to a larger group of musicians.

He approaches music starting out by using multiple guitars tuned to each other in alternative tunings. Using tools and other objects, he creates his sounds, he structures these sounds to create a dynamic sonic sculpture.

Inspired by 60s drones, NZ free noise as well as free jazz and much more, Wannes strives to expand what it means to be a guitarist by questioning the predetermined conventions of harmonics and rhythms.
